Sport

The school runs its own carnivals and actively participates in regional, diocesan and inter-diocesan swimming, cross-country and athletic carnivals. The school carnivals are organised to allow all students, infants and primary, to participate. There are also opportunities for children to participate in sport at state level as part of the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA).

As far as possible, students participate weekly in organised games and skill practices. It is expected that students will wear their sports uniform on sport days. These days are organised according to timetabling each term as the school makes use of external organisations, subsidised through the government’s Sport in Schools programs. Notification is given before the end of each term regarding uniform and other requirements for the following term. All students are expected to undertake these and other physical education activities unless we are informed it is medically or physically inadvisable.

Children in primary classes will also benefit from participation in regional and diocesan gala days in netball and soccer. Clinics with visiting expert coaches are provided throughout the year and advised via the newsletter.
